Debra Branker - Manager and Nature Specialist
Always following what felt right and not always the easy road, Debra took over the lease of Welchman Hall Gully in March 2007. Since achieving a BA in Environmental Studies and a MSc in Ethno Botany (study of people and plants), she has been working in the field of environmental education for 11 years. When the lease came up for Welchman Hall Gully, Debra jumped at the chance to pursue her passionate interest, namely to get the gully up and running as a prime nature based tourist attraction and to develop it as a Biodiversity/Educational Centre. |

Hilary Hurley - Gardener
Hilary has planted and grown vegetables since his childhood, a passion sparked while watching his grandmother in her garden. Hilary says that it was seeing the joy that gardening brought to her that led him to his interest in plants. Besides gardening, Hilary enjoys taking care of the chickens and feeding the Green Monkeys. He also takes pleasure in talking about the animals to visitors and has a keen sense of humour, which makes chatting with him hilarious, if you can first understand what he is saying, that is. |
